Formerly a top fashion model at 5'10'' tall, Carey was an a fan favorite of the top American designers such as Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father is a renowned scientist who was named Scientist of the Year back in 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. Her father was a geologist and traveled across the globe as part of his career. In her college years, she began to model for a small amount of time and was able to attract the attention from Ford model Agency representatives in New York. She stayed in France briefly, in Paris as well as Bordeaux. After that, she came back home to New York for her college study and further to build her modeling career. As a model, she attended New York University full-time to get a literature degree. When she arrived in New York she began to study acting. In 1986, she made her debut as an actor with a small role as a minor character in "Club Paradise" with Robin Williams. In her spare time, she enjoys ski, wind surfing as well as rock climbing, and white water river rafting.
